First Impressions
The Blue Boat Sail design is even more impressive in person. The decal measures 95 cm wide and 1.8 metres tall, so it’s large enough to become the main feature of the room. The arch shape also helps frame furniture placed in front of it, such as a cot, bed, dresser or reading chair.
The material itself felt thick, durable and more substantial than many traditional wall stickers. The print was clear and detailed, with a smooth finish that looked closer to a professionally installed mural than a basic peel-and-stick decal.
How Easy Was It to Install?
The installation process was relatively straightforward and took us approximately five to ten minutes.
The arch is supplied as one continuous piece rather than several separate panels. This creates a more seamless finish, although we’d recommend having two people available for installation.
We found it easiest for one person to slowly remove and control the backing while the other positioned the decal and smoothed it onto the wall. Working from the top down and gradually removing the backing made it easier to keep the design straight and prevent bubbles.
Is It Easy to Reposition?
One of the most useful features was being able to lift and reposition the decal during installation.
The material didn’t tear, stretch or lose its shape while being adjusted. This made the process much less stressful, particularly when working with such a large single-piece decal.
What We Liked
Tiny Tale Prints describes the decal as removable and renter-friendly, making it an appealing option for families who want to update a room without making a permanent change.
We also liked that the artwork doesn’t feel too babyish. It could comfortably remain in the room as a child moves from a nursery into a toddler or early school-aged bedroom.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Because the arch comes as one large single piece, a second pair of hands really does make a difference — it’s manageable solo, but far easier with two people. As with any wall decal, a clean, smooth, well-prepared wall will give you the best finish, and it’s worth taking a moment to line up your placement before pressing it down firmly.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Will a Tiny Tale Prints wall decal damage the walls?
- Tiny Tale Prints decals use a gentle, paint-safe adhesive designed for smooth, properly prepared walls, and are described as removable and renter-friendly. In our own installation we didn’t notice any wall damage. As with any decal, results are best on a clean, well-prepared wall.
- How long does the Blue Boat Sail arch decal take to install?
- Our installation took roughly five to ten minutes. Because the arch is one large continuous piece measuring 95 cm wide and 1.8 metres tall, we’d recommend having two people on hand — one to control the backing and one to position and smooth the decal.
- Can the decal be repositioned during installation?
- Yes. One of the most useful features was being able to lift and reposition the decal as we applied it. The material didn’t tear, stretch or lose its shape while we adjusted it, which made a large single-piece decal much less stressful to put up.
- Is the Blue Boat Sail decal only suitable for a nursery?
- Not at all. The artwork doesn’t feel too babyish, so it can comfortably stay on the wall as a child moves from a nursery into a toddler or early school-aged bedroom. The soft blues, greens and warm neutrals are also easy to coordinate with existing décor.
- Are Tiny Tale Prints decals safe for kids’ rooms?
- Tiny Tale Prints states its decals are printed on non-toxic, PVC-free, child-safe materials, and they’re designed and printed in Australia. That makes them suitable for nurseries, bedrooms and play areas.
Final Thoughts
The Blue Boat Sail Arch Wall Decal turned out to be a genuinely easy way to transform a room. It looks far more premium than a standard wall sticker, goes up in minutes with two people, and lifts and repositions without any fuss — all while being removable and renter-friendly. The soft, coastal artwork is lovely without being overly babyish, so it has the potential to grow with your child.
If you’re after a high-impact feature wall without the cost, mess or commitment of wallpaper or paint, it’s an easy one to recommend. You can see the full design on the Tiny Tale Prints website.
